Ondo Begins 2026 Promotion Exercise for Over 3,000 Public Servants

The Ondo State Government has kicked off its 2026 promotion exercise for more than 3,000 workers across the state’s public service.

Flagging off the process in Akure on Monday, the Head of Service, Bayo Philip, said the affected officers had completed the required three-year waiting period and were duly shortlisted for promotion.

According to him, the candidates were found eligible and invited for interview as part of the process.

He urged the officers to maintain discipline and uphold high ethical standards to ensure a smooth and timely exercise.

“We appreciate the state governor, Lucky Aiyedatiwa, for consistently approving the annual promotion exercise without skipping any year since assuming office.

“There are states where promotions are delayed for years or approved without immediate financial benefits. We are fortunate under the current administration,” he said.

Philip encouraged the workers to reciprocate the gesture by remaining committed to efficient service delivery, noting that promotion comes with greater responsibility.

Also speaking, the Permanent Secretary, Office of Establishment and Training, Olufunke Dare-Atunse, commended the Head of Service for initiating the exercise early.

She described his leadership as supportive of workers’ welfare and lauded the governor for prioritising the well-being of public servants in the state.
