The Ondo State Government has reassured residents of adequate security measures across the state ahead of the Easter celebrations, emphasizing its commitment to safeguarding lives and property.
In a press release issued on Thursday, the Commissioner for Information and Orientation, Idowu Ajanaku, stated that the administration of Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa has put in place comprehensive strategies to ensure a peaceful and hitch-free festive period.
The government congratulated Christian faithful on the occasion of Easter, describing the celebration as a time of reflection, renewal, and hope. It reiterated that the safety of residents remains a top priority, noting that coordinated security operations have been activated across the state.
According to the statement, security agencies have been strategically deployed to key locations, with enhanced surveillance and intelligence gathering aimed at preventing any breach of peace. The government said the proactive approach is designed to create a safe environment for both residents and visitors throughout the holiday.
Residents were, however, urged to remain vigilant and security-conscious, and to report any suspicious activities to relevant authorities. The government stressed that community cooperation is essential in sustaining peace and ensuring effective security coverage.
The statement also called on citizens to continue to pray for the peace, unity, and progress of the state and the country at large. It encouraged support for the administration of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu as it pursues its national development agenda.
Reaffirming its commitment, the state government assured that it will continue to take all necessary steps to maintain law and order before, during, and after the Easter festivities.
The government wished all Christian faithful a safe, peaceful, and fulfilling Easter celebration.
