The Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) and National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) in all the Ondo State Owned Universities; namely: Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko; Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa and University of Medical Sciences, Ondo; have embarked on indefinite Strike.
ASUU had already embarked on strike for almost three months.

Dear Comrades,
COMMENCEMENT OF A TOTAL, COMPREHENSIVE AND INDEFINITE STRIKE IN ALL THE ONDO STATE OWNED UNIVERSITIES
Notice is hereby given to the members of the Senior Staff Association of Nigerian Universities (SSANU), Non-Academic Staff Union (NASU) and National Association of Academic Technologists (NAAT) in all the Ondo State Owned Universities; namely: Adekunle Ajasin University, Akungba-Akoko; Olusegun Agagu University of Science and Technology, Okitipupa and University of Medical Sciences, Ondo are to commence a total, comprehensive and indefinite strike with effect from 12:00 midnight of Wednesday, 2nd September, 2026 to press home our demand for the implementation of the FGN/Unions Agreement with effect from January, 2026 immediately.
This painful decision was taken at the Emergency meeting of the leadership of Joint Action Committee (JAC) of Ondo State Owned Tertiary Institutions on Tuesday, 1st September, 2026 due to the failure of the State Government to match its words with action regarding the implementation of the agreement with effect from August, 2026 salary.
Kindly recall that the State Government came out boldly to announce a 60% increment in subventions to all the tertiary institutions in the State as well as approving the full implementation of the FGN/Unions Agreement with effect from August, 2026. Whereas, the same government released the same old subventions to all the institutions without the 60% promised for the month of August, 2026.
It is crystal clear that the State government is playing politics with our lives and wellbeing, therefore, we have no other alternative than to embark on this industrial action after the expiration of the 14-Day Ultimatum given to the government to do the needful.
To this end, all the clerical, administrative, technical, clinical and other services being rendered by our members in all the various Universities in Ondo State are hereby withdrawn until our CONTTA and all other allowances attached to it are paid unconditionally from January, 2026 to date, please.
