Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has approved the re-appointment of Dr. Taiwo Fasoranti as the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), months after he resigned from the position to contest the All Progressives Congress (APC) senatorial primary for Ondo Central Senatorial District.
The re-appointment takes immediate effect.
The development was announced on Tuesday in a Press Briefing by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Ebenezer Adeniyan.
Fasoranti had served as SSG until March 30, 2026, when he resigned to pursue his ambition of representing Ondo Central Senatorial District in the National Assembly.
He emerged winner of the APC senatorial primary for the district. However, his candidacy was later affected by the controversial review of candidates’ lists by the National Working Committee (NWC) of the party, which substituted his name with that of the incumbent senator representing Ondo Central, Adeniyi Adegbonmire.
The substitution sparked reactions within the party among several changes made by the APC leadership in Ondo State ahead of the 2027 general elections.
With his return as SSG, Fasoranti is expected to resume coordination of government activities and implementation of key policies of the Aiyedatiwa administration.
Governor Aiyedatiwa congratulated the re-appointed SSG and charged him to justify the confidence reposed in him by serving the people of the state with dedication, integrity and commitment.
