The Ondo State Government has announced the dissolution of the boards of several parastatals and commissions following the expiration of their tenure.
In a statement issued on Tuesday by the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, Prince Ebenezer Adeniyan, the government said the dissolution takes immediate effect.
The affected bodies include the Ondo State Universal Basic Education Board (SUBEB), the Ondo State Local Government Service Commission, the Ondo State Muslim Welfare Board, and the Ondo State Christian Welfare Board.
The statement also noted that the tenure of Education Secretaries across the 18 Local Government Areas of the state has expired.
“The Ondo State Government announces the expiration of tenure and consequent dissolution of the Boards of some Parastatals and Commissions in the State, with immediate effect,” the statement read.
It further directed all affected officials to hand over their responsibilities accordingly.
“The Chairmen, Commissioners, members of the Boards and Commissions and Education Secretaries are hereby directed to hand over to the most senior Administrative Officers in their respective offices,” the statement added.
Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa expressed appreciation to the outgoing officials for their contributions to the state.
“The Governor expresses profound appreciation to all affected for their service, dedication, and contributions to the development of the State during their tenure,” Adeniyan stated.
The development marks a routine administrative transition in line with the completion of statutory tenures of the affected appointees.
