The Chief of Staff to the President, Femi Gbajabiamila, has urged Kogi lawmaker Leke Abejide to stay committed to the African Democratic Congress (ADC) rather than defecting to another party.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking at a private celebration marking Abejide\u2019s 20th wedding anniversary and his wife\u2019s 50th birthday, Gbajabiamila described the lawmaker as a determined and loyal political figure who should not abandon the platform he has painstakingly built over the years.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He encouraged Abejide to stand firm within the ADC, strengthen his grassroots base, and resist external pressures\u2014particularly calls to join the All Progressives Congress (APC).<\/p>\n\n\n\n
According to him, political structures built through personal sacrifice and long-term commitment should not be relinquished easily.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Gbajabiamila further advised the Kogi representative to consolidate his influence within the party by mobilising allies and confronting internal opposition, stressing that no individual or group should displace him from a structure he established.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
His remarks come shortly after the faction of the ADC led by David Mark announced the expulsion of Abejide and others over alleged anti-party activities.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Meanwhile, one of those affected, Bala Gombe, is currently challenging his position as ADC national chairman in court.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The development highlights ongoing tensions within the party, as internal disputes and political realignments continue to shape Nigeria\u2019s evolving political landscape.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
