{"id":1253,"date":"2026-04-15T12:35:11","date_gmt":"2026-04-15T12:35:11","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/thepublicsquare.com.ng\/?p=1253"},"modified":"2026-04-15T12:35:12","modified_gmt":"2026-04-15T12:35:12","slug":"breaking-aiyedatiwa-sets-up-committee-to-review-minimum-wage-at-rugipo-clears-salary-arrears","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/thepublicsquare.com.ng\/index.php\/2026\/04\/15\/breaking-aiyedatiwa-sets-up-committee-to-review-minimum-wage-at-rugipo-clears-salary-arrears\/","title":{"rendered":"BREAKING Aiyedatiwa Sets Up Committee to Review Minimum Wage at RUGIPO, Clears Salary Arrears"},"content":{"rendered":"<figure class=\"wp-block-post-featured-image\"><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" width=\"588\" height=\"363\" src=\"https:\/\/thepublicsquare.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/IMG_5649.jpeg\" class=\"attachment-post-thumbnail size-post-thumbnail wp-post-image\" alt=\"\" style=\"object-fit:cover;\" srcset=\"https:\/\/thepublicsquare.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/IMG_5649.jpeg 588w, https:\/\/thepublicsquare.com.ng\/wp-content\/uploads\/2026\/04\/IMG_5649-300x185.jpeg 300w\" sizes=\"auto, (max-width: 588px) 100vw, 588px\" \/><\/figure>\n\n\n<p>Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa of Ondo State has approved the constitution of a committee to review the implementation of the new minimum wage at Rufus Giwa Polytechnic, Owo (RUGIPO).<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The decision follows consultations with the institution\u2019s management and labour unions over the harmonisation of salary payment structures for staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The committee, chaired by the Commissioner for Budget and Economic Planning, Mr. Olaolu Akindolire, includes Dr. Wunmi Ilawole, Mr. Olaleye Phillips, Mr. Asonja Oluwole Festus, and Mr. Abiodun Ogunduboye.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>According to the government, the committee will engage with the polytechnic\u2019s management, staff unions, and relevant state agencies to audit payroll records, address discrepancies in wage implementation, and recommend a sustainable payment framework.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>In a related development, Governor Aiyedatiwa has approved the payment of three months\u2019 outstanding salary arrears owed to workers of the institution.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The Commissioner for Education, Prof. Igbekele Ajibefun, said the move was aimed at stabilising the institution and restoring confidence among both academic and non-academic staff.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Meanwhile, the governor has confirmed the appointment of Dr. Simeon Olorunwa Adegun as the substantive Rector of RUGIPO.
