A Christian woman, Madam Serah Luca, returned N1 million recovered in goods she purchased from a Muslim trader at Terminus market, Jos, Plateau state capital.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Madam Luca, a petty trader living on Laminga Road, said she returned the money out of fear of God, explaining she couldn\u2019t spend or claim money that didn\u2019t belong to her.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
She narrated that she bought the goods on Friday and discovered the money hidden inside, when she returned home, emphasising her faith wouldn\u2019t allow her to keep what she didn\u2019t work for.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI am a petty businesswoman. I know what it means to suffer loss. If I put that kind of money into my business, I believe God would punish me,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Speaking after returning the money, the trader, Abubakar Dola, described the woman as honest and God fearing.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
He said, \u201cI am surprised to see her returning the money, because I did know where I kept the money. I am into polythene bag business here at Terminus.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cShe came and purchased goods worth six thousand naira on Friday. I had one million naira kept in a polythene bag which I was supposed to give to a POS operator for transfer, and I mistakenly put the money inside the polythene bag she bought.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI didn\u2019t know the money was inside the goods she bought. Three days later, the woman returned the money to me. I pray Allah rewards her with more than what she did for me. I pray Allah gives us more people of her kind and who fear Allah.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
\u201cI thank Allah for what she did for me. It\u2019s not easy to have people of her character. I had completely given up because I didn\u2019t know how the money got lost.
