Akure, Ondo State — Ondo State Governor, Hon. Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has commended the leadership and members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors (RHA) for their grassroots mobilisation efforts aimed at strengthening support for President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of the 2027 general elections.
The governor gave the commendation on Friday while receiving state leaders of the political group at the Cocoa Conference Hall of the Governor’s Office in Akure.
Aiyedatiwa said all stakeholders must work collectively to secure maximum votes for President Tinubu in Ondo State, noting that the administration’s economic reforms were beginning to yield positive results despite the initial challenges experienced by Nigerians.
According to the governor, the Renewed Hope Ambassadors was established to bridge the communication gap between the Federal Government and citizens by educating Nigerians on the objectives and benefits of the Renewed Hope Agenda.
He said many criticisms directed at the President stem from inadequate information about government policies and achievements.
“The group was established to bridge the communication gap between the Renewed Hope Agenda and Nigerians who are the intended beneficiaries. Some people do not have enough information and that is why many still criticise Mr President.
“We have to educate them and take the message to every part of the country. We must let the people know what Mr President has done and why we have to support his re-election,” the governor said.
Governor Aiyedatiwa highlighted key achievements of the Tinubu administration in infrastructure development, education, youth empowerment and economic reforms.
He cited the student loan scheme, exchange rate convergence and the elimination of multiple foreign exchange windows as major policy initiatives that have strengthened the economy by reducing distortions and curbing round-tripping.
The governor also pointed to ongoing Federal Government infrastructure projects, including the reconstruction of the Ibadan-Akure Highway with concrete pavement and the Lagos-Calabar Coastal Highway, describing them as strategic investments capable of boosting economic activities and improving connectivity across the country.
He expressed optimism that the projects would soon enhance travel safety and convenience for motorists.
Aiyedatiwa urged members of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors to intensify public enlightenment and grassroots mobilisation efforts, describing their role as critical to building wider support for the President and his policies.
He further commended the organisational structure of the group from the state level to the polling units and assured members of the continued support of the Ondo State Government.
The governor also expressed confidence that collaboration between the Renewed Hope Ambassadors and the All Progressives Congress (APC) would further strengthen the ruling party and improve its electoral fortunes.
Earlier, the State Director-General and Coordinator of the Renewed Hope Ambassadors, Rt. Hon. Victor Olabimtan, disclosed that the organisation had completed the recruitment of 25 ambassadors in every political unit across Ondo State to deepen grassroots mobilisation for the Renewed Hope Agenda.
Olabimtan explained that the group, inaugurated in the state on May 5, was established to communicate government policies to the grassroots, counter misinformation, project government achievements and provide feedback channels between citizens and government.
He revealed that implementation templates developed at the national level had been fully adopted in Ondo State, positioning the organisation to commence field operations as a vital link between government and the people.
According to him, the RHA is also compiling a separate list of 400 ambassadors in each ward to further strengthen its mobilisation network across the state.
Olabimtan added that plans were underway to organise a Youth Summit and a series of town hall meetings to sensitise young people and other stakeholders on the programmes and policies of the Tinubu administration, particularly those focused on youth development and empowerment.
He reaffirmed that the Renewed Hope Ambassadors remains an organ of the APC and would continue to work closely with the party at all levels in pursuit of its objectives.
The meeting underscored renewed efforts by the group and the Ondo State Government to consolidate grassroots support for President Tinubu’s administration and the Renewed Hope Agenda ahead of the 2027 elections.
