The Ondo State chapter of the All Progressives Congress (APC) has commended Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa for what it described as his visionary leadership, prudent management of public resources and commitment to laying a solid foundation for the long-term prosperity of the state.
The party’s State Chairman, Hon. Kolawole Babatunde, said the governor has distinguished himself as a leader focused on building a lasting legacy through policies and projects that will benefit future generations rather than pursuing short-term political gains.
In a statement issued by the APC Director of Media and Publicity, Steve Otaloro, Babatunde noted that Governor Aiyedatiwa has consistently demonstrated courage and foresight by prioritising the collective interests of the people above personal convenience and political expediency.
According to him, the governor understands that the true essence of governance lies in making decisions capable of transforming lives and strengthening the state’s economic future.
“Public office is a sacred trust. The resources of government belong to all the people of Ondo State and must be deployed responsibly, transparently and judiciously for their benefit,” Babatunde said.
He added that rather than spending public funds on initiatives designed to secure temporary political approval, the governor has channelled resources into programmes and projects aimed at driving sustainable economic growth.
The APC chairman particularly praised Aiyedatiwa’s commitment to industrialisation and investment promotion, describing the administration’s efforts as one of the most significant economic initiatives undertaken in recent years in the state.
He noted that growing interest from major investors, including the Dangote Group, reflects renewed confidence in Ondo State’s economic potential and investment climate.
“Governor Lucky Aiyedatiwa understands that industries create sustainable prosperity. Factories generate employment, stimulate local businesses, increase internally generated revenue and provide opportunities that endure long after political tenures have ended. This is leadership anchored on vision rather than vanity,” he stated.
Babatunde observed that the state had previously lost valuable economic opportunities due to decisions that failed to prioritise long-term development, stressing that the current administration is taking deliberate steps to avoid repeating such mistakes.
“History reminds us that opportunities lost through short-sightedness can deny generations the benefits they deserve. The economic gains associated with major investments often extend beyond the present generation. They benefit our children and grandchildren,” he said.
He further described Governor Aiyedatiwa as a calm, prudent and selfless leader whose primary focus remains delivering good governance and improving the living conditions of residents across the state.
According to him, the governor’s approach to governance goes beyond immediate benefits to a few individuals and is instead centred on policies that create opportunities, attract investments and uplift communities.
“True philanthropy in governance is not measured merely by what is given to a few individuals at a particular moment. It is measured by policies that uplift communities, investments that create opportunities and decisions that secure the future of an entire people,” Babatunde added.
The APC chairman urged residents to continue supporting the governor as he implements policies aimed at deepening economic growth, expanding opportunities and positioning Ondo State as a leading destination for investment.
He expressed confidence that history would remember Governor Aiyedatiwa for building enduring institutions, creating jobs and promoting initiatives that will have a lasting impact on the state’s development.
“As the ancient proverb says, ‘A society grows great when men plant trees whose shade they may never sit under.’ Governor Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa is planting such trees for the people of Ondo State,” Babatunde said.
He concluded that the governor’s legacy would ultimately be measured by the industries established, jobs created, opportunities expanded and lives transformed through purposeful leadership.
