Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has approved the appointment of Chief Segun Odusanya as the new Head of Service of the state, effective June 6, 2026.
The appointment follows the retirement of Mr. Bayo Philips from the Ondo State Public Service. Governor Aiyedatiwa commended Philips for his dedicated service and contributions to the development of the state, wishing him success in his future endeavours.
The governor also charged Odusanya to deploy his extensive experience in the public service to advance the objectives of the administration’s OUR EASE agenda and further strengthen service delivery across the state.
Born on February 6, 1967, Chief Odusanya attended St. Peter’s Primary School, Ile-Oluji, and Gboluji Anglican Grammar School for his primary and secondary education between 1972 and 1983.
He obtained a Bachelor of Agriculture degree from Obafemi Awolowo University in 1989 and later earned a Postgraduate Diploma in Management Studies from the same institution in 1992. In pursuit of further academic development, he obtained a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from University of Ado-Ekiti in 2000.
Odusanya joined the Ondo State Public Service in September 1995 and has served in several ministries and government agencies. He was appointed Permanent Secretary in 2019 and has held the position in the Ministries of Local Government and Chieftaincy Affairs, Transport, and Agriculture and Forestry, as well as the Ondo State Civil Service Commission.
Until his latest appointment, he served as Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and was also the Chairman of the Forum of Permanent Secretaries in Ondo State.
A seasoned administrator, Odusanya is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Personnel Management of Nigeria, the Chartered Institute of Public Administration of Nigeria, and the Chartered Institute of Local Government Administration.
He is married to Lady Oluwatoyin Odusanya, and the union is blessed with three children.
