Ondo State Governor, Lucky Orimisan Aiyedatiwa, has extended warm felicitations to the Muslim Ummah in the state ahead of this year’s Eid-el-Adha celebration, urging residents to embrace peace, sacrifice, and unity.
In a goodwill message released on Tuesday, the governor described Eid-el-Adha as a significant period that reflects the virtues of faith, obedience, charity, and love as exemplified by Prophet Ibrahim (AS).
Aiyedatiwa said the festival serves as a reminder for people to live in harmony and show compassion to one another irrespective of religious or ethnic differences.
According to him, “Eid-el-Adha, the Festival of Sacrifice, reminds us of Prophet Ibrahim’s unwavering faith, obedience, and willingness to submit to the will of Allah. It is a season that calls us to embody the virtues of sacrifice, charity, tolerance, and love for one another, regardless of religion or background.”
The governor reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to sustaining peace, unity, and religious harmony across Ondo State, while calling on Muslim faithful to use the occasion to pray for the continued progress of the state and Nigeria.
He also encouraged residents to celebrate responsibly and extend acts of generosity to the less privileged in society.
“I encourage everyone to celebrate in moderation, observe safety precautions, and uphold the peaceful disposition for which Ondo State is known,” he stated.
Aiyedatiwa further prayed for Allah’s blessings upon Muslim families, asking that their sacrifices, prayers, and good deeds be accepted.
“May Almighty Allah accept your prayers, sacrifices, and good deeds, and grant you and your families abundant blessings, good health, and prosperity,” the governor added.
