Ondo APC Commends Peaceful Screening Exercise, Hails Aspirants’ Maturity

The All Progressives Congress in Ondo State has commended the peaceful and successful conduct of the just concluded screening exercise for aspirants seeking elective positions under the party’s platform, describing the process as transparent.

The party also praised aspirants for demonstrating unity, maturity and discipline throughout the two-day exercise conducted by an eight-member screening committee from the party’s national headquarters in Abuja.

In a statement issued by the State Publicity Secretary of the party, Otunba Muyide Adeyeluwa, the APC specifically applauded the committee led by Margaret Afuruenu for what it described as fairness, dedication and professionalism during the assignment.

“The screening exercise, which was concluded yesterday, was conducted in a peaceful, transparent, orderly and highly professional manner, further reaffirming the credibility, organizational strength and internal democratic culture of our great party,” the statement said.

According to the party, the exercise recorded tremendous success as all aspirants who appeared before the committee conducted themselves with “dignity, caution, maturity and a strong sense of responsibility.”

“The atmosphere throughout the exercise remained cordial and cooperative, a development that clearly reflects the commitment of party stakeholders and aspirants toward the unity and progress of the APC in Ondo State,” Adeyeluwa stated.

The APC disclosed that all aspirants who participated in the screening had been cleared, pending the submission of the committee’s final report to the party’s National Secretariat for necessary consideration and documentation.

The party further noted that the conduct of the screening committee had strengthened the confidence of party faithful in the integrity of the APC’s internal processes.

“We therefore commend the leadership of the committee under Chief Margaret Afuruenu for their dedication, fairness and professionalism throughout the assignment. Their conduct has once again strengthened the confidence of party faithful in the integrity of the APC’s internal processes,” the statement added.

The ruling party also urged aspirants to sustain the spirit of sportsmanship, patience and peaceful coexistence ahead of the forthcoming primary elections across the 18 local government areas of the state.

“It is important to stress that the unity, stability and oneness of our party remain sacrosanct and fundamental to our collective aspiration of securing overwhelming victory at the general elections,” the statement read.

The APC warned against violence, intimidation and any conduct capable of bringing the image of the party into disrepute, urging aspirants to prevail on their supporters to remain law-abiding before, during and after the primaries.
