Husband on the Run Over Alleged Killing of Wife in Ondo Community

A suspected domestic violence incident has left a 51-year-old woman, Mrs. Christianah Kutelu, dead, with her husband reportedly fleeing the scene in Ikare-Akoko, Akoko North-East Local Government Area of Ondo State.

Investigations revealed that the deceased, a staff member of a special needs school, died on Wednesday under circumstances believed to be linked to domestic violence.

It was gathered that the suspect allegedly conveyed the victim’s body to a morgue shortly after the incident before escaping to an unknown location.

Family sources said the case was reported to the police, with suspicions raised about the husband’s possible role in her death.

Confirming the incident, the spokesperson for the Ondo State Police Command, DSP Jimoh Abayomi, said, “the Ondo State Police Command has commenced an investigation into a suspected murder case reported at the Ikare Division, involving the death of Mrs Christianah Kutelu, aged 51.

“The case was reported by a family member who alleged that the deceased’s husband might have been involved in acts of domestic violence leading to her death.

“The husband is currently at large, and efforts are ongoing to locate and apprehend him.

“The corpse has been deposited in the hospital morgue for an autopsy to ascertain the cause of death.”

The command assured the public that the matter would be thoroughly investigated and justice would be served.
