The management of Ondo State government-owned side, Sunshine Queens FC of Akure, has sacked its Head Coach, Kayode Olujohungbe.
The decision follows a string of poor results in the ongoing Nigeria Women Football League (NWFL) 2025/26 season, which the club described as unsatisfactory.
In an interim arrangement, THE PUBLIC SQUARE gathered that Coach Tayo Onilude has been appointed to take charge of the team and will oversee the remaining five matches of the campaign.
The club said the move was taken after a thorough review of recent performances, noting that a change in leadership became necessary to revive the team’s fortunes.
Sunshine Queens also wished Olujohungbe well in his future endeavours.
